ITASA 2008 Regional Grants are open! The ITASA Regional Grants Program awards monetary grants to student groups to sponsor events and activities that fulfill ITASA's broad mission. ITASA funds are distributed to each region at the discretion of the Regional Governors. Any student or group conducting projects (e.g. hosting a symposium, cultural performances, creating a documentary, etc) relating to the Taiwanese American community is encouraged to apply for ITASA funding.

Eledgibility Minimum Requirements
1. An event must have at least 20 participants.
2. The project must reflect ITASA's mission statement.
3. The project must be aimed at college students.

Application Procedure

1. A completed application should include:

A. Cover Letter (The cover letter should include a description of the event and why it is beneficial towards your Taiwanese American community.)
B. Application Form (download here)
C. Estimated Event Budget

Completed application packets should be sent to your ITASA Regional Governor. Only completed applications will be considered. To seek advice about the application, contact your ITASA District Representative.

2. Review and Selection of Grant Proposals:

The ITASA Regional Governors will review submitted applications. Please allow up to 2 weeks for a decision. Regional Governors will contact you with their decision on whether or not you will be awarded a grant and the amount awarded. In forming grant decisions, ITASA will consider:

A. Size and scope - whether the project caters to the local or regional community.
B. Intercollegiate participation - whether the project involves collaboration between campuses.
C. Purpose - whether the project fulfills ITASA’s mission.

3. Stipulations:

A. If you are awarded an event grant, you will receive the grant money after the event date and as soon as the Regional Governor receives a completed event report form.
B. If awarded the event grant, the ITASA logo must be placed on any advertising and programs for the event as a sponsor.
