From Taipei 101 Mall to Kaohsiung's Tuntex Sky Tower, 48 skyscrapers, government office buildings and shopping malls around the island turned off lights for a period of time ranging from 10 minutes to one hour and 10 minutes separately starting at 7 p.m. to endorse the campaign, "Let the Earth Cool Off a Little." The organizer, the Taiwan Broadcasting System, unveiled that the campaign aims to heighten people's awareness of the seriousness of global warming and to fight against the problem.
