This webpage is intended to provide support materials for a Taiwanese American Student Association (TASA) for a college campus. Feel free to utilize these materials found on this page as a way to build a stronger TASA at your school. If you have already attended a Leadership Retreat in the past, some of this information will already have been made available to you in the Retreat Program Booklet.
Programs
The programs of a TASA range from the social, educational/informational to debate event. All of these kinds of activities have different goals, as a social event may stress on the community aspect of a TASA, while educational/informational & debate events stress on personal development and exploration.
However, many of these goals actually overlap with each other. For example, an identity event can be one that is social and educational/informative as well. The main idea of programs planning is to BE INNOVATIVE, and CREATIVE.
The events that a TASA do not only support the organization, but also display the kinds of ingenuity that flourishes in the Taiwanese American Community. These workshops and events that you plan have the biggest impact on your membership, since these events are the things that will bind your organization together, and take the Taiwanese American identity to places it has never been before. Look to the future by looking around now, using what resources we have to create new and exciting programs.
